Just for Kitsap
Our first post on the new weblog for http://www.justforkitsap.com - Freecycle Kitsap County is for people on the Kitsap Pennisula in Washington State to share items they no longer want and will FreeCycle.
One rule: EVERYTHING POSTED MUST BE FREE. Whatever is to be given away. Respond to the posting directly and you just might get it. After that it is up to the giver to set up a pickup time for passing on the treasure.
FREECYCLING ETIQUETTE
1) NO POLITICS & NO SPAM. Two strikes & you're out.
2) The Subject line of every post must start with the tag OFFERED, TAKEN, WANTED, or RECEIVED and end with your location OFFER: old couch AND your location (closest city/geographical area) TAKEN: old couch (used when the item you offered finds a home) WANTED: old couch. [Please use WANTED sparingly] RECEIVED: old couch (used when you find item for which you posted a WANTED) ADMIN: Problem/complaint/suggestion? new idea?(send to owner at freecyclekitsapco-owner@yahoogroups.com, not to group)
**Never OFFER with "it's out on the curb, first one here gets it". Work directly with just one person at a time.**
3) CAN WE USE FREECYCLE TO FIND NEW HOMES FOR PETS? Yes, keep it legal & be lovingly careful.
4) KEEP IT FREE.
5) NO TRADING PLEASE.
6) FYI: RESPONSES GO ONLY TO OFFERER. It keeps down the # of e-mails.
7) PICK UP. arrange as you like, often, 1st response, 1st served; if a charity responds, you may want to give them a 1st shot.
8) NO ADS (OR SIG LINES) Please don't use Freecycle to advertise your business. Signatures clutter the digests and may infringe on the NO POLITICS/NO SPAM rule.
TIPS TO ORGANIZE ALL OF THE NEW E-MAILS YOU ARE GETTING:
a) CREATE A SEPARATE E-MAIL FOLDER & AUTOMATICALLY HAVE FREECYCLE STUFF GO TO IT. Create a separate folder in your email application & have Freecycle stuff filtered to it automatically with a new rule under tools/message rules/mail/
b) SET TO DAILY DIGEST OR NO E-MAILS. Realize, too, that you can set your personal preferences on the webpage (under members).
